Porto 2-Seater Bench
The demand for colour in the garden has resulted in the introduction of the Porto wood range. The Porto Homestead 2 Seater bench, has been crafted with Acacia hardwood and painted in a sage green polyurethane coating for a different style. The acacia tree grows very slowly which makes the wood incredibly hard and durable allowing the furniture to be used for many years. This 2 seater bench is very comfortable and adds a chic design to your garden, it is the perfect setting for drinks in the sunshine, in any outdoor space.
We are spending more time in our gardens than ever before, so it’s very important to find comfortable, durable and stylish outdoor garden furniture seating. Benches are perhaps the most versatile option and their smaller footprint makes them ideal for more modest outdoor spaces. Benches are a great addition to add to your space for more mellow, solitary spaces that allow you to have some peace.
Materials matter when it comes to choosing the right garden furniture bench for you and wood looks naturally appropriate outdoors. Although it’s heavy and may need protection from the elements, it provides a maintenance-free type of furniture for your garden.

This product is coated in a polyurethane paint (PU) which is a hard-wearing and highly-resistant protective layer. Polyurethane paint is made of liquid plastic which dries to form a strong protective coating on a surface. It provides durability with resistance to chemicals, water, abrasion and temperature, as well as having an attractive glossy finish. Wear of your wooden furniture (including the polyurethane paint coating) will occur over time. We recommend touching up your wooden furniture regularly with a polyurethane paint coating in order to keep your furniture protected and in good condition. Polyurethane paint can be purchased from most DIY stores.
The lifespan for any wooden furniture depends greatly on the type of wood used and the weather it is exposed to. Wood is a natural product and will change over time, this may include fading or colour changes within the wood, small cracks or marks may appear but this only adds to the character of the furniture and is perfectly natural and therefore does not warrant a fault in the wood.
Wood that becomes saturated with rain water is more likely to warp and rot, so either storing the furniture indoors or using waterproof protective covers when your furniture is not in use is strongly advised to keep your wooden furniture in good shape. The bases of furniture legs are definitely the most susceptible when it comes to water damage, the legs can become easily saturated and damaged. By covering the bottoms of each furniture leg with a water resistant material it will help protect your furniture from rotting from the bottom up.
Finally, exposure to chemicals including solvents and chlorine, and exposure to common items such as alcoholic beverages, plants and flower nectar, and hot items can permanently stain and damage wood surfaces. Additionally, it is vital to prevent plastic objects, like plastic table cloths, toys, placemats, and appliance covers, from lying on wood furniture for a long period of time because plastic can discolour wood.
Regularly inspection and tightening of fittings on your furniture is advised to keep it secure. Furniture should not be dragged and heavier items should be moved by two people to avoid injury or damage to the items. Properly caring for and maintaining your outdoor wood furniture can make it last for many years and maximise your investment.
To extend the product life and appearance, we strongly advise using a protective furniture cover or storing the furniture in a cool and dry place indoors during Autumn and Winter months and also during adverse weather conditions. Check that the furniture is completely clean and dry before storing indoors. Wipe with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. If this product has cushions when not in use, store them in a clean and dry place to enhance longevity. Please check the care instructions on the cushions for individual cleaning advice.
