Director Signature

  • Eco-Friendly Design

Our global supply chain is sustainable, fair and transparent. Our wood comes from responsible forest management and fair production, meeting the highest social and ecological standards.

The FSC® 100% seal is a sign of compliance with these principles: the forests from which we get the wood for our FSC® garden furniture are managed sustainably according to the highest international standard.

Through investing in R&D and working closely with partner factories, we have created a UKFR compliant fabric from 100% recycled bottles (the material looks and feels like spun polyester).

Aluminium, which the majority our metal sets are constructed from, is strong and highly malleable and one of the most plentiful resources on this planet. It is also highly sustainable, environmentally friendly and almost endlessly recyclable.

We understand how the use of plastics in the manufacture of our rattan furniture impacts the environment longer term. Supporting research into safe recycling and ongoing development of safer plastics will help make our business more sustainable and, in global terms, more environmentally friendly.

Sustainable Sources of Energy

Sustainable power sources are without a doubt the future of energy. Replacing fossil fuels and other types of energy sources that have a negative impact on our health with the power that comes from nature is the best way forward. We feel strongly motivated in taking action, having a positive environmental impact, and promoting eco-friendly solutions. Global emission of CO2 is still growing, and we are determined to reduce our contribution wherever we can. Royalcraft as an international, expanding brand is committed to the eco-friendly movement. Every day, thousands of orders are sent to customers and multiple shipments are received, therefore a stable source of energy is crucial in order to provide our customers and partners with the best service quality. Our initiatives include:

  • 2021 upgrade to solar energy

Our biggest innovation to date, the Royalcraft 2021 upgrade to solar energy systems in our West Midlands head offices and warehouse was a huge step within our sustainability plans. Solar panels, implemented in 2021, produce a renewable and clean energy source which creates no carbon emissions and are ultimately planet friendly.

  • Switch to LED lighting

LED light bulbs contain zero toxic chemicals and last much longer than average bulbs. They produce far less waste, are easy to recycle and are much gentler on the environment effectively slashing our energy usage and reducing our carbon output by a significant margin compered to traditional lighting solutions.

  • Actively Recycling

At Royalcraft we are actively recycling all plastics, aluminium and cardboard. Our teams have spent the time to craft new processes to re-use any materials we use. Recycling is at the core of what we do and any waste we produce aims to avoid landfill in conjunction with our external waste recycling partners.

Better website hosting for a better planet

Data hosting centres have a big share in energy consumption and CO2 pollution, due to their massive use of electric power and cooling systems. From the very beginning, Royalcraft has known the importance of green energy and that is why we host our data exclusively with a hosting provider who operates in an environmentally responsible manner.

In 2018, Shopify decommissioned all of their data servers and shifted entirely to Google Cloud. Google matches 100% of the energy consumed by Google Cloud with renewable energy, making Shopify a carbon-neutral platform for all web hosting.

Climate-Neutral Deliveries

As an eco-aware and future-oriented business, we cooperate only with the carefully selected partners that share our eco-friendly attitude. The same applies to delivery companies, we choose only those that opt for better delivery practices that minimise the carbon output. By 2024 we will strive to add electric vehicles into our delivery network to reduce our carbon footprint further.
